Rock Bag Filter Units, also known as Rock Bag Armour Units, Sac Gabions, Stone Filled Nets, or Rock Bags, are innovative solutions originally developed to secure deep-sea power transmission cables. However, over the past decade, their use has expanded to include erosion control and various civil engineering applications. Ongoing research and development efforts aim to explore additional uses beyond anchoring deep-sea cables.

One notable advancement in this field is the world's first full-scale stability trial of Rock Bag Filter Units conducted by Project Material. This trial has contributed to further understanding the effectiveness and potential applications of these units.

Product Material

Rock Bag Filter Units are primarily made from two prominent materials: Polyethylene (PE) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). While PE and HDPE can be produced from recycled materials, Project Material exclusively uses virgin feed materials to ensure the purity of the final product.

The manufacturing process of Rock Bag Filter Units involves the use of "Warp" knits, which are produced exclusively on a Chain Loom. Each warp is controlled by a separate needle, resulting in run-resistant, closer, flatter, and less elastic knits. Common types of Warp Knits include Tricot, anese, and Raschel. In partnership with the manufacturer, Project Material utilizes "Raschel Warp Knits" to produce bags according to strict specifications. This joint venture ensures a complete chain of custody and adherence to Quality Management Systems.
