Gabions and rock mattresses
Gabions and rock mattresses are baskets or cages manufactured from
heavily galvanized wire or pvc coated wire.
Applications include:
Retaining walls
Weirs and drop structures
Culvert protection
Bridge abutment protection
Channel lining
Landscaping
Rockfall protection netting (mesh)
Erosion control and stabilization.
Gabions are box like units, generally of length either 2m or 4m and
with a height of either 0.5m or 1m. Rock Mattress product is
generally of larger plan area, typically 6m x 2m, but are much
thinner in depth with typical dimensions ranging between 0.17m and
0.5m. All units are supplied folded flat to site and the customer
must fabricate the supplied unit to size, join one unit to another
to form the required structure, fill with suitable stone, and the
material is heavy zinc coated wire, we promise we will give you our

How to built gabions?
Step 1
Open the bundle and unfold each unit.
Step 2
Lift the sides, the ends and the diaphragms of each unit into
vertical position.
Step 3
Attach the sides of four corners together with locking wire
fastener or lacing wire and the diaphragms to the front and back of
the gabion.
Surface treatment of gabion mattress: The woven steel wire used to
manufacture the mattress is heavy zinc coated steel wire or pvc
coated wire.
